As part of the relocation, IFAW upgraded its network backbone by standardizing on the HP Networking 5400 zl switch series, which allows the organization to more efficiently communicate with clients with a faster connection than the previous network configuration. IFAW uses this networking technology along with HP 2510 and HP 2810 switch series to ensure that its offices around the world are connected and can scale as business demands peak.
“The opening of IBM’s Bucharest Systems Laboratory is a significant milestone in the strong partnership between Romania and IBM,” said Valerian Vreme, Romania’s Communications & Information Society Minister. “IBM’s commitment reinforces Romania’s vision to become a knowledge based economy, powered by smarter computing.”
IBM estimates that the new facility will employ up to 170 technical staff by the end of 2012. Through a second agreement, IBM will license to the Skolkovo Foundation know-how related to intellectual property management, including methods to help identify and evaluate technologies of high potential commercial value.
Teachers are passionate about helping their students succeed and recognize the need to stay current with tools that can help them do that. What we need in the classroom are people who are going to push the boundaries to help students learn, and it is our belief that teachers who are comfortable with technology at home translate those experiences directly into the classroom.
Once certified they will begin to teach students about how analytics can be applied to their topic of study. The learning will involve access to predictive analytics technology and will focus on how to act on the results the analytics technology uncovers. UWS is adding new courses in direct response to the recommendations of regional employers.
